He worked as a Professor at Lomonosov's MS University teaching various geological courses and conducting research in the fields of Structural Geology, Geotectonics and Tectonophysics.
He did his PhD Thesis (Micro-deformations of primary and weakly-metamorphosed sedimentary and volcanic rocks and their significance in structural analysis), and then, Doctor of Science Thesis (Paragenetic analysis of a heterogeneous geological media: development of theory and application methods). At the University of Toronto, Faculty of Geology, in 2000-2004 he worked, first, at the Analog Modeling Lab, and then as an investigator of the INCO/NSERC project designing 3D structural and geochemical model of Ni-Cu-PGE world-class Creighton Endowment (Sudbury Basin). Switching to practical mining in 2004 he worked as an exploration manager, team leader, structural geology consultant, field work supervisor, VP Exploration, visiting lecturer and workshop instructor and as a scientist. He's been serving a broad range of mining companies from juniors to majors (such as KAZZINK, INCO-Vale). He is a practicing Member of Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) since 2010; as a QP he prepared and signed off numerous Technical Reports (NI 43-101, JORC and in-house reports) for the Mining Companies world-round. Dr. Galkine developed a theory of structural parageneses in heterogeneous geological media, and original methods of structural analysis (1997) based on this theory. He designed a cost-effective original technique of exploration targeting which has been successively used by companies world-round on various commodities - from base metals and uranium to PGE, gold and silver, oil and gas - Remote Exploration Method (REM) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3B6RB8Uqoc He also designed two original techniques and invented a tool for structural analysis in the drillcore and in the field:

For many years he's been using invaluable consulting assistance of Dr. Bogdan Nitescu, PhD, PGeo (www.linkedin.com/in/bogdan-nitescu-62b27a48/ ).
Dr. Bogdan Nitescu is a Mineral Exploration Geoscientist, Geologist and Geophysicist; Assistant Professor of Mineral Exploration, Exploration Geophysics, Tectonics and Structural Geology, and Advanced Tectonics at Universidad de Los Andes (Bogota, Colombia). He is an Associate Consultant for the Remote Exploration company on modern applications of geophysics and interpretation of the geophysical data and surveys results for the projects around the world. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Romanian, with bits of French and German.
The company also maintains a working relationship with a group of Canadian and internationally trained and experienced experts in various fields of geology, whose consulting support ensures the highest quality of project implementation.
